OSTERIA PIATTOFORTE – When you don’t know what it is, it’s jazz!
"And fuck jazz, too!" - So exclaimed a satisfied T.D. Lemon 1900 after having humiliated “the inventor of jazz" Jelly Roll Morton in the famous scene from "The Legend of 1900" . That's the dreamy, ancient, musical and oceanic atmosphere that jumps to your heart once inside the Osteria Piattoforte, a delicious calm and careful restaurant dominated by a soaring white piano in the middle of the room.
Between a dedication in F minor and a bunch of red roses thrown from the stage, you will compliantly make yourself bewitch by the quality of its elaborated dishes of fish and meat and its creative first courses such as tagliolini with saffron and surmullet, paccheri with salted tuna roe or tortelli stuffed with mozzarella di bufala and anchovies Everything is strictly accompanied by an exquisite black bread and a swing.
The outdoor dining area is located in the picturesque Piazzetta degli Ariani - maybe the most beautiful of the entire city - , the decor is mainly classic with twists of warm colors, red and yellow, and the bathroom – beautiful – is covered with blue, white and cotto ceramics, with a checkerboard floor made of multi-colored tiles that recalls the dance floor where a nimble and feverish Tony Manero wiggled on the notes of the Bee Gees.
So, if you can't tell with the right words to your friends the joy of food experienced here at Osteria Piattoforte, you can always show it dancing.
